The veterans of the Steve Youngdeer American Legion Post 143 in Cherokee NC are proud to have served two sovereign nations, the United States of America and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. The veterans of the post have served in all the branches of the armed services from World War II through present. “While we might be an old broken down warhorse, we have always been, and will always be warriors,” said Warren Dupree, the service officer for the post.
